My Lenovo Ideapad 120S-11IAP has an Intel(R) Celeron (R) CPU N3350 @ 1.1GHZ. I love this little budget laptop and would rather try upgrade the CPU than buy a new laptop. I've already upgraded the hard drive to an a solid state drive and replaced the screen.
Just bought the above product the other day & when I was setting it up I somehow managed to choose a UK keyboard instead of the usual US keyboard - unfortunately this means that some keys are in reading in the wrong places for me in Australia with the UK keyboard!I have spoken on the phone with Lenovo who told me how to change it back BUT it does not remember the change and I have to REDO it every time I open my computer - very annoying! The Tech guy said he'd send me an email on how to do a Factory Reset but that was two days go and nothing! Can anyone tell me how to do the Factory Reset please? Thanks for any assistance,Shirley.
Hi Shirley /,Welcome to the Community Forums.Using Push-button reset (factory reset would delete everything and reimage the system from out of the box setting for a fresh start for you ).Push-button reset can be launched using one of the following methods:. Novo button :Shut down the computer and wait at least five seconds.Press the Novo button and then select System RecoveryChoose One Key recovery from initial back up to launch.Hope this answered your query.Update us how things go.Regards. I have this same Lenovo product and can not find NOVO button or reset button, I am so frustrated with this machine. The updates do not work, Lenovo site states Windows 10 downloads and about 10 different downloads which I think is incorrect as this is using Chrome OS. Make it totally confusing.
Also keys type by them selves adding several extra keys and Google Chrome Support said it was a lenovo Hardware issue?I am still under warranty and want to return this ideapad ir get it fixed but Lenovo does not make it easy on there site. Welcome to the Lenovo Community pappysgal80!Spidey101's previous posted had a link which showed the location of the NOVO button along with an explanation how to use it. Here is a copy of that part of the posting.'

I went on Item 7 page 1 and PDF page but this model is not similiar to my ideapad as I have 1 USB on the right ( not 2) and a empty square hole with 100 beside its and on left side has 1 usb on right and 1 HDMI also a hole with a mushroom like icon and also a another small hole with a metal pin ( maybe a reset) like routers have and this is next to electric plug in adapter. My ideapad is a 100S chromebook 11iBY 80QN and I think only uses Chrome OS not Windows? I also think the only reset is Chrome OS powerwash.
I wanted to download a Lenovo OS on USB for my specific machine but Chrome only offers Lenovo 100S so I am using Google Orco Firmware.I do not understand why it seems to be so difficult to find the specifics for each Lenovo ideapads. ♦ Find a post helpful?

And in the user guide, THis is the cheapest model lenovo on the market with a small 11 ich screen, I just want ACCURATE INFO TO THIS SPEFIC MODEL?? Why is it so hard to get a correct answer?? Also I see no 'NOVO' or reset button, nor can I get into BIOs?? Maybe it does have Bios.
Can someone at Lenovo please give me the correct material for this specific machine as it had me downloading windows 10 amnd lots of other progrmas this I do not takes, I can not even get downloads to work?? What a messI hear it is called 'Ideapad'.
My keyboard and trackpad don't work for some reason. I read on the internet that I have to do a hard reset (taking out the battery and disconnecting the AC cable, than holding the power button for 30 seconds) to make it work again. So my question is how to perform a hard reset if the battery is INBUILT.
I looked into the user manual of my laptop but I couldn't find anything. My laptop works with a USB mouse and keyboard, and the laptop keyboard works in BIOS. I also tried to find an option to disable the battery in BIOS but couldn't find anything. Hi,There's actually a way to do a hard reboot the laptop by removing the battery.- First here's a video guide on how to disassemble the laptop.- Once the battery is out, unplug the AC adapter as well then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then put everything back together then try booting it up again.- If the same problem will persist, use the USB keyboard and mouse to do some other troubleshooting steps.- First is to uninstall/reinstall the keyboard and touchpad driver.- Last option if all these will not work is to reinstall Windows itself.- Here's a guide.
